I know, it sounds like something the Top Gear team have dreamt up, but this is reality.

This clip does seem like a trailer (no pun intended) for an epic movie but it does well to show exactly what the Sealander can do.

It is light enough to be towed by a small family car, yet with the addition of an outboard motor it can be used to sail the seven seas. Well, not exactly but you get the picture.

With its large windows and removeable roof, you can really appreciate your surroundings whilst floating on a calm and peaceful lake.

Facilities are limited to a a sink, a cool-box, a cooker and a camping toilet, btu what more do you need when you have this much freedom?

Just check out the link at the top of the page to see the Sealander doing what it does best.

Liz and Alan Colleran, a husband and wife team, delivered a great pitch presenting their product the Duvalay, and newest dragon Hilary Devey invested £80,000 into the invention.

The product is a zip-up memory foam mattress and duvet combined. If offers you a comfortable and warm nights sleep in your caravan.

The side of the bed that is against the wall of the caravan can be zipped up to prevent the user from getting a cold side.

The memory foam mattress is also said to aid people with back problems.

After some tough questioning from the other dragons, which exposed some financial errors that the couple had made, all of the dragons pulled out apart from Devey.

Devey, who was in only her second episode of the show thought the idea had some potential to it and decided to invest.

So all of you caravan lovers out there, keep an eye out for the Duvalay, it is a great invention that may be popular very soon.

The Nethercraig Holiday Park in Perthshire has been put up for sale by its owners.

The site stretches over 50 acres and is located at Alyth in Perthshire and is up for sale at £1.6m.

It has 60 pitches for lodges and static caravans and there is also space for a further 52 touring caravans pitches.

The site also has a three-bedroom house and space for up to 60 vehicles in an indoor tourer storage building.

The current owners are reluctantly selling due to the expansion of their business at Crofthead Holiday Park in Ayrshire.

Richard Moss, a director at property agency Colliers International, is handling the sale and told business publication Business7: “This is a really interesting prospect and is one of those few parks which will appeal to either a family/private concern or larger scale operator given the acreage and potential scope for further development.”

Take your baby away from the hustle and bustle of life and go for a relaxing caravan holiday. It really is a great way to spend some quality time with the newest member of your family.

You can have a lovely time, however if you are safe in the knowledge that your caravan in baby proof you will surely be able to relax a little more.

A working fire alarm and a CO2 detector (if you use gas) are the first two things to check before you set off. These aren’t really specific to babies and will make your caravan safer for everyone but they are essential if you are spending time with your little’un in the caravan.

A first aid kit for babies is another essential, a regular first aid kit just won’t suffice. You can put this together yourself and it should include a first aid manual which you can use to refresh your memory when a crying and panicked baby make it hard to remember what to do. Your first aid kit should also contain some age appropriate pain killers; dressings, including plasters, bandages etc; antiseptic cream or spray, camomile lotion, antiseptic wipes and any other accessories you feel are necessary.

Put yourself in the mind of your child when baby proofing your caravan. Think, ‘where would I go if I could crawl’ of ‘would that fit in my mouth?’ You should then make sure that anything that your child could choke on is locked away somewhere safe. It is also a good idea to purchase some socket protectors to ensure your child can’t shove their little fingers into any plug sockets.

Bfore you allow your baby to enter you should check for flaking pain. If there is some then you should either remove it all or have a professional seal it. If you don’t your child may pick off the flakes and eat them which could lead to choking or poisoning.

Any sharp edges on your caravan’s furniture or cabinets should be covered with padding or bumpers so your baby doesn’t hit their head and hurt themselves. Sometimes it is a good idea to do the same on the high up cabinets for dad too.

It is a very good idea to bring a cot along as caravan beds are most certainly not suitable for babies. You should make sure that the mattress is firm and that the legs lock securely. It is always a good idea, if your baby is very young, to sleep in the same room as your child for safety purposes.

Anything your baby can get to should be hidden away and secured with childproof locks. All cupboards and drawers should have these attached so your child doesn’t get into a spot where an accident may occur. If you have cleaning products or anything toxic or for that matter anything sharp, then these should all be kept in cabinets which are out of your child’s reach.

Kent County Council is facing opposition over plans to revamp a gipsy caravan site from the travellers that already occupy the site, according to the Telegraph.

Even though the proposal will improve their living conditions and give them better facilities they are against it as it may attract more travellers.

The council was planning on spending around £1m to increase the number of pitches, upgrade the washing facilities, install a new playground for children and construct a screen around the site to reduce road noise from the busy A20 nearby.

However the current travellers living in the site have said that this will attract more gipsies to the location which could create tension.

A spokesperson for the travellers told the Telegraph: “We’re dead against the development. Moving loads of new families here could cause a lot of tension.”

He added: “Why can’t the council give the money to a better cause and leave us alone?”

The current group of travellers living in the town are said to have integrated well with the community, have caused no problems and get on well with locals. They have said that moving more families in could seriously threaten the relationship.

Public consultation will begin in August and if councillors vote in favour of the improvements the construction could start next April.

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) this week released the official figures showing the number of Gypsy and Traveller caravan sites across England.

This report shows details on the total number of pitches and also shows which are on authorised and unauthorised sites.

In total the number of sites in England has risen in a year but only by 46 caravans making the total 18,383 in January 2011.

The details showed that the number of sites on authorised land had increased by 556 caravans since January 2010 and that the number of sites on unauthorised land had dropped 26% over the course of the year.

The collection of data released by the DCLG also shows the areas in the country with the largest and smallest concentrations of Gypsies and Travellers.

The area with the largest number of Travellers’ caravans was the east which had 24% of the total number and was swiftly followed by the South East.

The areas with the lowest numbers of caravans were London and the North East.

Visit the DCLG’s website to download the full rundown of the figures.
