Pair die in caravan fire in East Sussex

A man and woman have both died after a caravan fire at a popular seaside holiday park in East Sussex on Saturday (13th Aug).

Before the fire crew arrived employees at the park tried to tackle the blaze along with another caravan owner.

Four firefighters arrived on the scene and attempted to put out the fire to reach the pair, but the victims were already dead.

The unnamed pair were in their 40s and owned the caravan at Combe Haven site near Hastings, East Sussex, since 2007 and recently visited the site.

A site spokesman told The Mirror: “Our team members and guests are shocked by this tragic accident.

“The owners of the caravan were valued and popular members of the community at Combe Haven.”

Police and fire crews were examining the site to find out how the blaze started.

Police confirmed the pair died at the scene.
